The study consists of four sessions (one of them in online format). Prior to the actual experiments, all participants* will have the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the space (Session 1) and communicate any special needs to the investigators. Following the lab tour, participants will undergo several background tests (sessions 1 and 2, 1-3 days apart) for subject selection. All participants who meet the participation criteria (see below) will be invited to participate in a speaking experiment (session 3 after 1-4 days) and a listening experiment (session 4 after 1-7 days) on separate days.

Duration: approximately 3 hours
Participation criteria: Participants* must be between 18 and 50 years old and native German speakers. They must have normal vision and hearing, no intelligence impairment, no language development disorder, and no psychotropic drugs or epileptic symptoms. In addition, participants must have received an official autism spectrum diagnosis in the past (without co-occurring disorders). Participants agree to be informed about incidental hearing threshold findings, if applicable.
Expense allowance: 12 € per hour
